The Farm - 2005

The Farm - 2005

In 2005, we purchased 35 acres of an old farm with plans to transform it into a tree farm. Unfortunately we were unable to keep the majority of the old buildings but they were painstakingly taken down to be recycled.

Later that year, we took the old free-stall barn, cut it in half and raised it several feet so that we had a place for our tree farm equipment. We planted our first trees in 2006. Usually we plant between 1,000 and 2,500 trees each year.

We moved to the farm in 2007 and realized there was something missing... animals. We did a lot of research and finally, in 2009, we purchased our first two alpacas. It did not take long for us to fall in love with these wonderful animals, and decided that they were the right fit for our farm. In 2010 we built a new barn and in early 2011, our herd grew from 2 to 9. On July 24, 2011, our first two crias (babies) were born. There is nothing like having crias running around the pasture.

We continue to have more crias born every year. Please feel free to contact us if you wish to visit and explore our farm. We would love to meet you!
